Drama encourages play, collaboration, lateral thinking and develops confidence and creativity which is why it forms an integral part of the revised curriculum.

It has always played an important part of school life in Ballinamere National School in the annual productions which have included the spontaneity of the Nativity Plays; the glamour of the rock musical; the poetic interpretation of the vocal choirs; the creation of films based on devised scripts and the improvisation and fun of the pantomime, a tradition set by Larry Fleming continuing to this day.

Within the curriculum there is a move to include more process based drama which can be seen in each classroom through role play; story telling; improvisation; mime and devising of texts. Drama is all inclusive, all engaging but above all FUN!
